Tidecoin is a post-quantum cryptocurrency in continuous operation since December 27, 2020. Every transaction is signed with Falcon-512, a NIST-selected lattice-based scheme. Genesis message references the Jiuzhang quantum supremacy demonstration.
On December 9, 2020, a photonic quantum computer named Jiuzhang demonstrated quantum computational advantage — processing a task in 200 seconds that would take a classical supercomputer 2.5 billion years. This event underscored the urgency of quantum-safe cryptography.
Eighteen days later, on December 27, 2020, Tidecoin's genesis block was mined. Its timestamp message reads:

The project was first announced on BitcoinTalk on January 4, 2021. Since then, the network has operated continuously for over five years with no publicly disclosed security incidents, no known consensus failures, and no hard forks.
Tidecoin was discussed on the public pqc-forum mailing list hosted by NIST. This is a public discussion forum — it does not imply NIST approval, certification, or endorsement of Tidecoin. Tidecoin uses NIST-standardized algorithms but is not NIST-certified or NIST-approved.
